Quick Note...

I haven't posted or made beads for a few days now - on Thursday afternoon the trainer at my daughter's school called. She got hit in the head with a softball and they thought she was showing signs of a concussion. They told me to watch her carefully. I thought with her symptoms I should take her to the doc - so on Friday that's what I did and she does have a concussion. Watch her for other signs, but no exercise for a week...she doesn't like that at all!!! But she'll be ok. Today, I think I'll finally get around to some enamel beads and more head pins, and maybe some lampwork beads as well. Depends on how I feel later - I am very tired. I myself am going through a little medical issue (girl stuff) but need to have surgery coming up soon. I'm ok, but it's on my mind a lot and it also makes me pretty tired! Hopefully we'll all be back to normal here in April. I'll post later when I have some enamel beads up!

I hope you and your daughter both get well quickly. Enameling is a great cure-all. :)

I hope that everything gets back to normal for you soon, Sue! I know what it's like to deal with issues (girl or otherwise) that just seem to drag you down...I'm hoping that we get some sort of answer for some of my issues this week...

I hope you survive the week of a daughter anxious to get back out there!

Hey Sue,

Sending you that squeezy healing type of sisterly love that all ladies need once in a while!

Hope your daughter is on the mend and that you get to relax a bit and take care of yourself too! I recommend a nice soaker bath, complete with bath salts, candles, and some Harry Connick Jr. on the stereo!

Dawn
P.S. If you hear a tink on the window... it's the healing fairy. I'm sending her your way to look out for you guys! ;)

the best to both you and your daughter... her injury alone - the vigilance and worry and being responsible makes a parent weak in the knees, to the bone exhausted... take care of both of you - maybe you can watch some movies together (that's my 18 yr old daughter's fav way to pass the time!!)

Hi Sue, so sorry to hear about your daughter! Thank goodness she is ok!! How scarey.
Oh, I have had my share of the medical issues, nothing serious, but still, very worrisome at the same time. Hope your daughter is back on the field soon and you on your torch.

Hope your daughter is feeling better, its always a little scary when your kids are hurt. Hope you are dealing with your "girl stuff," isn't it great being a girl.
I hope the kiddo is doing better now. Concussions can be scary. Take it easy and take care of yourself. Everything else can wait a bit. Hugs!

Bead Soup Blog Party!

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party! What is a Bead Soup Blog Party? Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following: ~ A focal ~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw) ~ Some coordinating spacers or beads Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not. The Tacky Earring Blog Hop

Diana Ptaszynski had a great idea, instead of a Tacky Christmas Sweater blog hop, a Tacky Holiday Earring blog hop! I was on it.  I had ideas right away.  I had so many I had to control myself.  You can buy these for $15 each, too!  Here we go! I found these awesome wreaths in the miniature Christmas section in Michaels, and they go perfectly with silver and copper colored plastic beads! These trees were found in Michaels, on an end-cap - I assume they are scrapbook or card making supplies, but make fantastic earrings.  The holes were a little small and far down, so I had to make LARGE loops.  Paired these with cute little gold colored jingle bells! And, finally, the ones I had in my head the moment she announced the blog hop.  Dr. Seuss sparkly puff balls with ribbons.  The only thing that would have made these better for me is if I could have found the red ribbons I really wanted to pair these with - don't get me wrong, the silver is cool and all, but in my head they w
