Bead Table Wednesday

Better late than never, right? I was busy today - Target, shoes, grocery store, making beads! But look what I got in the mail today! My connector from Kristie Roeder of Artisan Clay beads! This is what I will be playing with for my Designer Challenge. I have an idea for some lampworked beads that will go with this connector - it will eventually become part of a necklace!

Artisan Clay Design Team

YAY! I was one of the people picked to be part of Kristie Roeder's Artisan Clay Design team ! This photo is one I stole from her blog! She makes beautiful beads like this one - check out her etsy store too! She's going to send us an item, and we have a few weeks to make something with it before we reveal what we made! She's also going to have some guest jewelry makers every month! Here are the members of the design team: Marcie Abney Shannon Chomanczuk Susan Kennedy Carol Dean Sharpe Staci Louise Smith Jen Velasquez For this round, she put some photos up on facebook and we got to tag the bead with which we want to work! This is great for me, as it will force me to make at least one piece of jewelry each month! Thank you Kristie, I can't wait to get started!

New Beads

I just listed some new beads in the SueBeads etsy store yesterday - have a look!

Bead Table Wednesday Again

I did mention that I would show you my steel wire and round beads! I have a round bead marver and I just love them! These are plain, but I can't wait to make more and more and more! I love round beads!

Barbara Fernald's Jewelry!

Do you know Barb Fernald ? She is a fantastic jewelry designer. She has some talent, that woman! She has a great blog too, and takes the most awesome photos AND uses some pretty cute props for her photos! She made the top two sets of earrings with my glass headpins. I think they turned out amazing, her riveting work is fantastic! I had to show you the last photo because I think the earrings are pretty inventive and really show her talent and style! You can find her etsy store right here !

Bead Table Wednesday

Well, the beads I made today are still cooking in the kiln. I'll show them to you tomorrow. But for BTW, this is what I'm going to be working with when they are done. I have an idea, that goes along with some great annealed steel wire, for this Indonesian bead I picked up from Happy Mango Beads . Can't wait to work with it!

Melissa Meman's on the Cover!

Hey all! My friend Melissa Meman is on the cover of Step by Step Wire! Her earrings are so pretty and I just love the cover, so springy! This is her FIRST publication, too, if you can believe it! What's great for me is that she used MY beads! My Monet Swirl lampworked beads are there on the cover too! Woo Hoo! I'm so thrilled! I have to run out and get this magazine! I do have some Monet Swirl beads listed in my SueBeads etsy store and if you are interested in just buying a pair instead of 6 of them, just shoot me a convo or email! Thanks Melissa, for using my beads and giving me a thrill! I'm sure you are thrilled too!

Black Market Minerals

My son Sean loves going to Black Market Minerals every time we come to the beach.  He didn't buy anything this time, but I did!  I got these two strands of what I believe are Picture Jasper, one set of rice beads and one of barrel beads - I really like them!  I found these ammonites too and just had to have them...I have no idea why, they were just too cool!

Trying to Keep UP

I am here in the sun, trying to rest after my surgery! I will try to keep up with everyone, but it will be hard. We are on a modem right now, and I'm sure you all know how those go - SLOOOOOOW. Bar Update

Today my sweetie worked on the bar more, and here's a photo of what he did. Also, I ordered some fused glass knobs from Joan Rosen at Uneek Glass Fusions . These are granite glass aventurine green knobs with an oil rubbed bronze finish on the hardware (on the back, you can't see it anyways). The knobs came today and they look great! I can't wait until the bar is finished! It's going to be so awesome, I'm going to have to get new furniture!!!!!

Bead Update!

For a couple days this week, I was able to make some beads! Yay! I'm going to list a bunch at SueBeads on etsy today and tonight! Check them out!

Bead Table Wednesday

Wow, time sure flies... Here's what I got today, for Bead Table Wednesday! Lovely Indonesian beads from Happy Mango Beads , and a gorgeous lacy blue/purple heart pendant from Lisa Peters ! Can't wait to use them!

My Bar

My sweetie, who is a general contractor but also an amazing finish carpenter, has been working on something for me for a bit now. I had a closet in my family room and have always wanted to turn it into a wet bar. Since Jason is so good at making dreams come true , he told me he could do that! When it's all done, I'll post before and after photos but in the meantime, here's a little sneak peak of what he's been working on! He built everything wood himself!

Margot's Bead Soup

I wanted to show you what my Bead Soup partner, Margot Potter, made with the beads I sent her. Please check out her blog if you haven't already - she's a very funny, energetic, talented lady!

Lorelei's Earrings

Hey, check out Lorelei's earrings - she made them with some of my purple headpins! Aren't they cute? See her blog here !

Art Bead Scene Challenge - March

Nave Nave Moe ( Sacred Spring, Sweet Dreams) by Paul Gaugin 1894, Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg Woo Hoo - check out the gorgeous work by Gauguin - it's this month's inspiration for the Art Bead Scene Challenge. And, some beads found in my SueBeads etsy store you might want to use in your design for the challenge!

BTW

Here is my Bead Table Wednesday (see Humblebeads for reference!). I am making the necklace for my mom - it's been almost a year in the making. Sometimes I need inspiration and after the 45th year that I have had, inspiration was seriously lacking for a while. I think it's coming back! Anyways, the chain and clasp is from Shannon at MissFickleMedia . The lampwork beads and heart pendant are mine.

First Crocus

Hey! First crocus in my yard today! Maybe the groundpig was right!!!!!
