Art Elements Challenge

I've decided to leave off the Week designation on those posts because I haven't participated in all of them and some we have been given 2 weeks to accomplish.  This weekly challenge was brought to us by Lesley Watt, who chose an image as a prompt (below):

I was happy about this one! I had a tube of a bead mix called Aztec by a now-closed on-line bead shop called eebeads.  I loved the mix and hoarded it until now!

I made a plain, 2-drop flat peyote cuff with this awsome clasp!  It took me quite a while to find the perfect clasp, so I'm glad we had 2 weeks to complete the challenge!

Art Elements Weekly Challenge::Week 5

I had to miss last week, Spirals, because I just didn't have enough time.  But since I was chosen to pick the theme for this week, I made it!  The theme for this week was monochrome.  I had to check with art friends to make sure that just didn't mean black and white.  It doesn't! So my offering is this monochrome berry 2-drop peyote bracelet!

Tune in next week, for a new theme!

I was excited to receive this because I was attending the Bead My Love retreat in Delaware before this CoM was due, so I thought I'd get some great ideas there!  I really wanted to make this elaborate beaded cuff, but just don't possess the skills or patience or space to do it right now, but someday I will make one.  So for now, I made a beaded bezel, and used some of my new skills to add more rows to it.

I added a stop-bead row of purplish-gray size 8 beads to the outside of the peyote bezel, and then did a brick stitch row of beads in that pretty blue.  I also added a row of blue beads between the peyote bezel and the stop-bead…
