Beads of Courage Charm Swap!

UPDATED to add:  There's a small hitch with the eBay auction, new details will be posted as soon as available.

Today is the reveal for the Beads of Courage Charm Swap and Auction, once again hosted by Jennifer Stout Cameron.  This year the theme was Fairy Tales.  This was a bit of a challenge for me.  Until I got this in the mail:

I don't even think this is the one I ordered, but I wasn't going to send it back to the UK and exchange it, so I kept it.  I immediately thought "pot of gold" when I saw that one roller section.

So, I looked up the leprechaun and pot of gold legend and the rest, as they say, is history.

First, here are my charms:

And now, the story of the leprechaun and the “Pot O’ Gold”

Fairy Tale: Leprechaun

The Leprechaun is a type of fairy in Irish folklore.  They are depicted as tiny, solitary, bearded men who cause mischief.  According to legend, they spend their time making and mending shoes and have a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.  If captured by a human, they will grant them three wishes to obtain their freedom.

My charm is a pot of gold, with the gold being a gold bead on top of the pot, and then a Celtic charm hanging from it.

And these are the charms I received!

From top, left to right:  Melissa Trudinger, Caroline Dewison, Jenny Davies-Reazor, Lesley Watt, Cate Van Alphen

Second Row, left to right:  Terri DelSignore, Cassi Paslick, Patty Miller, Brooke Bock, Marianne Baxter

Hi! I don't know what that roller tool is, other than I can somewhat figure out it's function, but that's really flipping cool! Almost as cool as your charms! I can just imagine all the gold inside the pot waiting for a wish to be made on. And the Celtic charm dangling is like the perfect touch. Keep spreading luck with your creativity!

First, I have no idea how you use the roller plates. I stink at them. And I'm glad I guessed right with pot of gold (Zack guessed witch's cauldron). I got one. Zack stole it. He's stolen almost all the charms I got!

The Tacky Earring Blog Hop

Diana Ptaszynski had a great idea, instead of a Tacky Christmas Sweater blog hop, a Tacky Holiday Earring blog hop! I was on it.  I had ideas right away.  I had so many I had to control myself.  You can buy these for $15 each, too!  Here we go! I found these awesome wreaths in the miniature Christmas section in Michaels, and they go perfectly with silver and copper colored plastic beads! These trees were found in Michaels, on an end-cap - I assume they are scrapbook or card making supplies, but make fantastic earrings.  The holes were a little small and far down, so I had to make LARGE loops.  Paired these with cute little gold colored jingle bells! And, finally, the ones I had in my head the moment she announced the blog hop.  Dr. Seuss sparkly puff balls with ribbons.  The only thing that would have made these better for me is if I could have found the red ribbons I really wanted to pair these with - don't get me wrong, the silver is cool and all, but in my head they w
