Randomness

The word of the year that I picked (remember Erin's post?) was learning. I bought some wool from The Rainbow Room on etsy, because I want to learn how to make felted beads. I just love these colors. I'm also going to learn how to make some different kinds of beaded beads as well. And I feel bad for whoever had to cancel, but I get to go to Barbara Lewis' (Painting with Fire) enameled bead class on Saturday in Virginia.
This is the rat (a.k.a. gerbil) eating a carrot. Even though I think it looks like a chipmunk sometimes it is cute.
This is the only snowman my daughter made for me out of all that snow we got, and it was just the other night and the snow is packing down more and more but we still have lots. The snowman collapsed and melted away already!
I bought this owl from LeAnn at SummersStudio on etsy. She keeps making these great things, and I keep having to buy them and then hold them and stare at them.

Sue, the colours of that wool are amazing. I love felted beads and these colours will be fantastic. Your little 'rat' friend is gorgeous. Must be very nice to have the snow starting to go. Oh, and it's OK to use the beads. And it's OK just to hold the beads ;-)

Yay - you will have fun playing with your felt...I've played with some, and it's something nice and easy to do while you're chillin'

And, I know exactly what you mean about LeAnn making things that you have to buy and look at...My owls are SO cute!

Have fun at the enameling class! Sounds like fun! I'm on my 1-week countdown till Beading by the Bay!

I can't wait to get my own little owls!! I even got nests to match!! I tried making felted beads, it did not quite turn out, but I am going to try again tomorrow if I can find the time, I have a couple of things I want to try that may work better :)

Good Luck!!

Marie
That's way cool that you got a spot in Barbara Lewis's class. Man, I bet you will learn huge amounts. I can't wait to see your felt ball beads. Love the rainbow of colors. See ya for lunch next week!

Can't wait to see what you do with the wool (if you can stop fondling LeAnn's beads for a bit, that is...)! You lucky girl to be joining the Painting with Fire class - envy!
Your gerbil looks just like the mice my cats keep bringing in!

Bead Soup Blog Party!

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party! What is a Bead Soup Blog Party? Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following: ~ A focal ~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw) ~ Some coordinating spacers or beads Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not. You may recall my partner was Margot Potter ; click this link to see the blog post I wrote of what she sent me! Here's what I made! Dangly earrings! Come see what the rest of us made! 1. The Tacky Earring Blog Hop

Diana Ptaszynski had a great idea, instead of a Tacky Christmas Sweater blog hop, a Tacky Holiday Earring blog hop! I was on it.  I had ideas right away.  I had so many I had to control myself.  You can buy these for $15 each, too!  Here we go! I found these awesome wreaths in the miniature Christmas section in Michaels, and they go perfectly with silver and copper colored plastic beads! These trees were found in Michaels, on an end-cap - I assume they are scrapbook or card making supplies, but make fantastic earrings.  The holes were a little small and far down, so I had to make LARGE loops.  Paired these with cute little gold colored jingle bells! And, finally, the ones I had in my head the moment she announced the blog hop.  Dr. Seuss sparkly puff balls with ribbons.  The only thing that would have made these better for me is if I could have found the red ribbons I really wanted to pair these with - don't get me wrong, the silver is cool and all, but in my head they w
