New Lampwork Beads Listed!

I listed some new lampwork beads in the SueBeads etsy store tonight! Take a look!

Sugar Beads Are Back!

I just listed a bunch of colors of sugar beads in the SueBeads etsy store ! Get them for the holidays!

Enameling Trade!

While I was at the Art Bliss Inaugural Event, I had the pleasure of meeting Jean Van Brederode. She is a fellow enameler although she tends to kiln fire while I torch fire. She was also part of the leaf charm swap (and I promise I will show the other charms this coming week!). Here is a photo of the leaf charm she made, and the bird pin that I traded some beads for!

Vintage Buttons

While in Virginia, we stopped by another antiques store and I spotted some vintage buttons in a bin. Again, they weren't displayed all too well but I dug through and found three packets for $2 each that I purchased! I picked out a few, and sent the rest to Lorelei, who really knows what to do with vintage buttons! These are the ones I picked out. I know the red ones want to be earrings, but don't know what I will do with the others. Probably put them in my stash!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my mom and dad - 50 years ago today they tied the knot! Hard to believe someone could be married for 50 years - amazing!

On A Whim Finds

While in Lucketts, we went into this cute store called On a Whim. It was cool, but they had these bins of jewelry that really needed to be displayed better! I picked through some of them and found these items. I have no idea why I needed the scottie dog earrings, but I just did. The pin I thought I could make into a focal piece for a necklace. We'll see - maybe they'll just sit in my beadroom forever!

Kitties

Dusty Rosie My kids' father got kitties and we're watching them this week while he is away. I am SO allergic to them, but they are so cute. But I now figured out I have to get a dog and not cats! Glad that decision has been made!

Lots o' Birds!

Fantastic Weekend Part Trois

Here's the donkey grazing! Mosaic created at www.bighugelabs.com of the horse head and welcome sign, before and after! Jason painted both the horse head and the welcome sign a gloss black. He installed the horse head on his mailbox (a perfect place for it) and the Welcome Friends sign on a fence that goes down his driveway. Perfect purchases!

Fantastic Weekend Part Deux Pumpkins

While we were in Lucketts, I remembered that a little further down the road was a cool farmer's market. We took a little drive down there and saw the most unusual pumpkins ever! I wish I would have written down the names for you, but maybe you get some like this where you live? I sure don't!

Fantastic Weekend!

Wow, I had a great weekend! On Friday, my friend Jason and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings, got wings and beer, and watched the Penquins hockey game. Can I tell you how long it's been since I did that? Practically forever! On Saturday, we took a road trip to Lucketts Virginia to visit that funky store I posted about on Friday, and a few other antique places. I took far too many photos but I thought I share a few here and there! Piles of cool stuff! I bought one of these windows to hang on my deck wall! Cool cool cool filigree! Giant chicken. No, I didn't buy it (though my daughter wishes I did!). After this store, we went to the farmer's market and they had the most unusual pumpkins I've ever seen! I'll show them next post! Then, you have to see what Jason bought for his house!

Updates

So, when Leslie ( Bei Mondi ) and I were making our way to and from Art Bliss, we saw the coolest outdoor menagerie of antiques and tin creatures and we had to stop! Unfortunately for us, they were CLOSED - boo hoo! I've been somewhat obsessed with it since then, so my friend and I are going to take a road trip on Saturday to visit it! I am excited - I need to buy him the donkey sculpture! Do you know anyone who has a donkey? I have no idea what the name of the store is, and the web site address they had on their door does not work. Any of you VA people know it? It was by Leesburg, I believe, in Loudoun County, close to the roundabout! Also, my blood pressure is back to normal after medication and a much more relaxed life. Hopefully it will stay that way and I will be able to get off it soon! I have been going out and seeing friends again and making beads again! Generally, getting back to my normal self! And HOW could I forget to mention that I just scored tickets for the
