Updates

So, when Leslie (Bei Mondi) and I were making our way to and from Art Bliss, we saw the coolest outdoor menagerie of antiques and tin creatures and we had to stop! Unfortunately for us, they were CLOSED - boo hoo! I've been somewhat obsessed with it since then, so my friend and I are going to take a road trip on Saturday to visit it! I am excited - I need to buy him the donkey sculpture! Do you know anyone who has a donkey? I have no idea what the name of the store is, and the web site address they had on their door does not work. Any of you VA people know it? It was by Leesburg, I believe, in Loudoun County, close to the roundabout!

Also, my blood pressure is back to normal after medication and a much more relaxed life. Hopefully it will stay that way and I will be able to get off it soon! I have been going out and seeing friends again and making beads again! Generally, getting back to my normal self!

And HOW could I forget to mention that I just scored tickets for the U2 concert here in Pittsburgh in July! I believe we are their last tour date, so far, so should be a spectacular show!

That place looked so cool. I can hear dollar signs already :) I hope you guys have a great trip. And I'm happy to hear your blood pressure is back to normal. Life throws us some weird stuff sometimes. Hooray on the U2 tickets!

You were in Lucketts, Virginia where you saw that whole mess of yummy stuff! That is the old 'General Store' from way back when now called 'Old Lucketts Store' at the intersection of State Route 15 and Stumptown Rd (State Route 622) in Loundon County. I am not from Virginia but Maryland and Route 15 was part of my commute to work. From Lucketts, the Maryland state line is about 10 miles where you cross the Potomac River. As far as a 'round about' there is one on the Maryland side after you cross the river, go through a traffic light, and up the hill. If there is a 'round about' in Loundon County somewhere on SR 15 I am unaware of it. 'Round about' is the stupid name the State Highway Administration named those things. Where they got that idea I do not know. However, we are close enough to Washington, D.C., which has a lot of those, and they are called circles! For example, Dupont Circle. Therefore, I hope that answers your questions. BTW, this is the first time I have ever seen a blog and left a comment on one. I was in Information Technology for years and the last thing I would normally not want to do is sit and read someone else's blog. Sorry, I do not mean to offend. Best Regards, J, Frederick, Maryland.

Bead Soup Blog Party!

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party! What is a Bead Soup Blog Party? Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following: ~ A focal ~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw) ~ Some coordinating spacers or beads Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not. You may recall my partner was Margot Potter ; click this link to see the blog post I wrote of what she sent me! Here's what I made! Dangly earrings! Come see what the rest of us made! 1. The Tacky Earring Blog Hop

Diana Ptaszynski had a great idea, instead of a Tacky Christmas Sweater blog hop, a Tacky Holiday Earring blog hop! I was on it.  I had ideas right away.  I had so many I had to control myself.  You can buy these for $15 each, too!  Here we go! I found these awesome wreaths in the miniature Christmas section in Michaels, and they go perfectly with silver and copper colored plastic beads! These trees were found in Michaels, on an end-cap - I assume they are scrapbook or card making supplies, but make fantastic earrings.  The holes were a little small and far down, so I had to make LARGE loops.  Paired these with cute little gold colored jingle bells! And, finally, the ones I had in my head the moment she announced the blog hop.  Dr. Seuss sparkly puff balls with ribbons.  The only thing that would have made these better for me is if I could have found the red ribbons I really wanted to pair these with - don't get me wrong, the silver is cool and all, but in my head they w
