How About A Giveaway?


I think it's time for a giveaway! These 8 beads were made from clear glass and turquoise trail frit - a frit no longer in production, so they'll even be collectable!!!! How about that??? They were made on a 3/32" mandrel, so they can go on cord or other such stringing materials! Just leave a comment on this post only - let's see, why don't you tell me what colors you are working with right now? I'll draw one name randomly on Wednesday, October 21st around 8pm. Anyone in the world can play, but please only one comment per person!

I'm about 1.5 hours north of San Diego (kind of halfway between LA and SD). Tomorrow and the rest of the week look great. It's just yesterday and today that are raining.

I am using a lot of teal and turquoise right now. I am starting to branch out into more reds and oranges though which is inteesting for me since I am a real green nut!!

Ooh - pretty beads! I have been working in blues and greens and throwing a little brown into the mix here an there...That seems to be my "standard" color pallet...I break out every once in a while, though :o)

I just finished a necklace with turquoise and lime greens, and I'm getting ready to work on a necklace with purple and yellow! Definitely not my normal colors, so we'll see how it goes! The beads you posted are my favorite color :) I have to force myself to use other colors. Thanks for the giveaway!!

I'm using cobalt blue, turquoise, the green in your post, and pale blues - but as my seasons are opposite to yours that might explain my current palette(as I'm in Australia and its spring).. Vicki

I was working on fall colors browns, orange, green and blue. I had those colors in my kiln and the power went out. We lost it for 15 hours. I guess these babies get to be annealed again. Turquoise and lime green are my favorite colors to work with.

Great color - one of my favorites. I am working on something about the same color with some black,and coppery seed beeds. Also some red creek jasper in another project. I used to live in So.Ca and do miss it sometimes - am in VA now.

They look like beads that would be perfect for an ocean themed necklace or bracelet. I'm not working with a lot of color now, unless you count silver and copper metal. Those beads would look great with copper, by the way.

I've been working with fall colours recently but I am starting to move into whites, silvers, crystals and little hints of blue for the winter and these are so beautiful.

Bead Soup Blog Party!

Today is the day of the big Bead Soup Blog Party reveal! Lori Anderson, the wonderful host of this event, reported that there are 362 participants this year! That's a lot of blogs to look at. I will try my best to get to each and every one, but it may take weeks! My partner was Laura Zeiner from Stick Lizard Designs . She has a lot of talent, that girl. If you recall in my previous post , she sent me these beads: And this is what I made: I love love love the focal she sent me. It's gorgeous! The lack of sun here in Pittsburgh does nothing for this rock! The colors and crystals are beautiful! I had no idea what to do with it, though, and I pondered for quite a while. I decided to make links with 18 gauge copper wire and think I did an ok job at it. I'm sure there are some better ways to do this, and I'd love to hear about them. I'm just really starting to get into the world of wire and so my skills aren't that great. In any event, I made some beady links

The Tacky Earring Blog Hop

Diana Ptaszynski had a great idea, instead of a Tacky Christmas Sweater blog hop, a Tacky Holiday Earring blog hop! I was on it.  I had ideas right away.  I had so many I had to control myself.  You can buy these for $15 each, too!  Here we go! I found these awesome wreaths in the miniature Christmas section in Michaels, and they go perfectly with silver and copper colored plastic beads! These trees were found in Michaels, on an end-cap - I assume they are scrapbook or card making supplies, but make fantastic earrings.  The holes were a little small and far down, so I had to make LARGE loops.  Paired these with cute little gold colored jingle bells! And, finally, the ones I had in my head the moment she announced the blog hop.  Dr. Seuss sparkly puff balls with ribbons.  The only thing that would have made these better for me is if I could have found the red ribbons I really wanted to pair these with - don't get me wrong, the silver is cool and all, but in my head they w
