Waxed Linen Cord Blog Hop!

My friend and fellow Art Jewelry Elements member, Diana Ptaszynski, is hosting today's Waxed Linen Cord Blog Hop!  A big thank you to Diana, as this is a really big job!  I was excited to join in, I have been making some new chicklet beads recently and wanted to show off some ways you can use them!

I used a pretty spicy orange color of waxed linen cord, and a great button I got from someone on etsy who I will have to find again because I love his buttons!  I used indonesian glass in between my flower chicklet beads.  And finally, some silver accent beads I picked up at a bead show here last year!
To finish the bracelet off, I used two indonesian glass triangle beads!

And then, to be annoying and over-achieverish, I made these earrings.  I used salmon cord, copper accent beads, my chicklet beads in a different orientation, and mustard colored seed beads!  I also used the new shape feature on Picmonkey!

Please check out what everyone else made in the blog hop by visiting the links below!

Hi Sue, Your flower chicklet beads are way cool. They look great in your bracelet and earrings. You chose the perfect accents to showcase your lovely beads.

Those are seriously my most favorite beads you have ever made. You can do no wrong with them! Hehehe, I've been planning to use waxed linen with mine as well. I think they were just made to go together! Thanks for participating!
Sweet, colorful and ready for summer! Your chicklet beads are adorable!

Lovely designs, Sue. That bracelet really shows off your glass beads so well. And I agree about that button...it's darling and I want to know where you got it, too!
Those beads seemed to be made for linen! Really love your bracelets!

I seriously love your chicklet beads and so seeing a whole bracelet of them is wonderful! The two silver beads add just the right touch of contrast. Flipping the beads on their sides in the earrings is brilliant. I may have to do that with one of the chicklets for the AJE Component of the Month blog hop! Great designs!

Oh your new beads are adorable and come in such fun colors! Chicklet beads rock! So does your bracelet and earrings -- I'm learning so much just studying the gorgeous jewelry you all created! I love the style of your earrings and the design of your bracelet -- the beads take center stage and the combination you styled is exquisite. Happy Hopping! ♥ TJ

Bead Soup Blog Party!

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party! What is a Bead Soup Blog Party? Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following: ~ A focal ~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw) ~ Some coordinating spacers or beads Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not. You may recall my partner was Margot Potter ; click this link to see the blog post I wrote of what she sent me! Here's what I made! Dangly earrings! Come see what the rest of us made! 1. The Tacky Earring Blog Hop

Diana Ptaszynski had a great idea, instead of a Tacky Christmas Sweater blog hop, a Tacky Holiday Earring blog hop! I was on it.  I had ideas right away.  I had so many I had to control myself.  You can buy these for $15 each, too!  Here we go! I found these awesome wreaths in the miniature Christmas section in Michaels, and they go perfectly with silver and copper colored plastic beads! These trees were found in Michaels, on an end-cap - I assume they are scrapbook or card making supplies, but make fantastic earrings.  The holes were a little small and far down, so I had to make LARGE loops.  Paired these with cute little gold colored jingle bells! And, finally, the ones I had in my head the moment she announced the blog hop.  Dr. Seuss sparkly puff balls with ribbons.  The only thing that would have made these better for me is if I could have found the red ribbons I really wanted to pair these with - don't get me wrong, the silver is cool and all, but in my head they w
