Bead Fest Update and Coupon

Thanks for bearing with me and my computer issues - I have a new computer, but lost my contacts, photos, etc. for the time being (after Bead Fest I will be visiting with Geek Squad!).  I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of the beads coming up at Bead Fest (booth #463 A) and a discount coupon for admission!

There are only four of this type of bead so far, and probably that will be all because I simply don't have the time it takes to make them!
I have lots of hand-formed hearts that I am really proud of!
Lots of ammonite cabochons, plus some arty ones as well!
I will have many focals like these, as well as small sets of three and singles of this new style of bead!  I really love these as well.
 More hearts!
Round beads, in fabulous enameled colors that almost look like ceramic beads!
 Lots and lots of chicklets!
Here are the sets of three of this new style of bead.
Lots and lots of headpins - singles and pairs!  I really got into making these and hope you like them!  They are made on 20 gauge copper wire, and have been kiln annealed, so they are very flexible for your designs and are 4 inches long, so you can do lots with these!
Here's a printable coupon for Bead Fest - since they are charging admission again this year, this will save you $10 off your admission, making it only $5.  Please print it out to save yourself some money and buy more beads!
I hope you enjoy all my new designs for this year - I feel they are considerably different than my work last year and I hope you love them all!

See you at Bead Fest - in a week!!!!  Booth #463A - SueBeads

Oh my such lovely beads!!! I have never been to any show like this as it is just too far away.

Best of luck, but with those fantastic beads I don't think you will need luck.

Bead Soup Blog Party!

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party! What is a Bead Soup Blog Party? Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following: ~ A focal ~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw) ~ Some coordinating spacers or beads Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not. You may recall my partner was Margot Potter ; click this link to see the blog post I wrote of what she sent me! Here's what I made! Dangly earrings! Come see what the rest of us made! 1. AE Component of the Month - July - Scarabs by Me!

I provided the scarab beads for the Component of the Month Challenge over at Art Elements for July! And as usual, didn't take a photo of my own bead before I started working with it.  But here is the one I used - unfortunately, you can't see the lustrous oil slick colors of this black metallic glass because once again we have cloudy days here in Pittsburgh. I made a choker length necklace using spiral stitch and these awesome seed beads that go so well with this black metallic glass! I used hematite swarovski crystals to divide the bead stitching and the scarab focal bead; I actually ordered a pile of pairs of various black swarovski colors and decided that these match the best! I finished off the necklace with the ball socket clasp - it's a nice way to finish a spiral stitch - the size is just right and it's fairly easy to sew into the design. Please check out what our guests and team members made with their scarabs! And thanks to everyone who took par...

Bead Soup Blog Party!!!!

It's time again for the Bead Soup Blog Party, hosted by Lori Anderson.  I don't really know how she does it, she has health issues but keeps plugging away.  Thanks to Lori and to her husband and her helpers who made this work yet again this year! My partner was Rochelle Brisson from Sea Chelles Design on etsy, and her blog is A Creative Chelle .  I posted earlier about what she sent me for my soup: Usually I stress about what beads or components I'm going to add to the soup to make bunches of things, and I decided I don't really like that stress.  I wanted to stress a different way - use only what she sent me, other than whatever I was going to use to string.  I did a pretty good job, I think. I was inspired by a necklace I saw in a magazine some time ago, an assymetrical necklace that used the toggle clasp in the front for the focal.  The pretty ceramic focal hangs off the round part of the toggle clasp, in the front of the necklace.  I ...
