Holiday Beaded Beads

I got in the holiday spirit and in addition to making a cute pair of earrings for one of my boyfriend's customers, I made a little pile of beaded beads to offer to you!  I'll offer them here first, $10 per pair, with $3.00 shipping.  Then in a few days they will go in the etsy store!  Also, if you want earrings, let me know!

And here's some that could probably be used for Hanukkah or just winter in general!

Beaded Beads

I have recently become enamored with seed beading. I think it's because I used to like cross-stitch so much and miss doing it.  I gave up cross-stitch when I started making glass beads, and right now don't know of any patterns that would entice me to do it again - my favorite designer retired due to hand issues.  So I have become quite taken with seed beading, and making beaded beads.  I have made so many, in fact, that I decided I should offer them in my SueBeads etsy store!  You can find 6 pairs listed right now, with more to come later today!

I think you'll really enjoy my unique color combinations in your jewelry designs.  These make perfect earrings!  Here are some examples of earrings that I have made!

If you need a pair of earrings, they are $20 each and I would be happy to sell them to you!

AJE Earring Challenge Reveal 21 - Weeks 43 & 44/52

Hard to believe we are well into November already!  I haven't really been keeping up with my blog or jewelry making lately, or my etsy shop for that matter (although I am well stocked now!!!  Take a LOOK!)

I've been on a tear making beaded beads right now, which I really love - I can make them when I am "relaxing" so to speak!  Here are some earrings I made with them!

Thanks for checking out our earring challenge - you can go to the Art Jewelry Elements blog to see what everyone else made!

AJE Component of the Month - Kristi Bowman-Gruel

Today is also the reveal day for the Component of the Month over at Art Jewelry Elements!  This month, Kristi Bowman Gruel provided us with gorgeous copper components.  You can get one in her etsy store!

I made beaded beads to go with the bracelet bar - this is is my new obsession!  They work up quickly and can be made in any color combination!  Originally I was going to make a necklace with it, but my idea required the holes to be more toward the top of the bar.  So, I made a bracelet instead!

Here's my finished bracelet!  I really like it.  I used the seed beads to match the beaded beads.  I covered the crimp beads by the bracelet bar with the copper heishe beads, but couldn't figure out how to do it with the crimp beads by the toggle - if anyone has a good idea, let me know!

The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the toggle.  I had another one by Shannon of MissFickleMedia but couldn't find it anywhere...

Please check out the AJE blog to see what everyone else …

Beaded Beads Poll

I just thought I'd do a quick post and let you know about the beaded beads poll! Out of 31 votes, 3 people said they wanted singles; 7 people preferred doubles; 16 said an assortment of colors in the same family was what they would be after; and, 5 just don't care for beaded beads! Thanks for all your help! There are several pairs listed in my etsy store right now. I did make a bracelet myself with coordinating lampwork beads and beaded beads, and I really like it. I am hoping a magazine likes it too; when I hear back, I'll post a photo of it! I'll leave you with a photo of a nice pair of beaded beads I like, in a pretty violet color!

Please Take My Poll

I made a little poll, to the right------>. The reason I am asking is because someone just bought 5 of my beaded beads from the etsy store, and I want to restock them! I have already made a "rainforest" one, and want to know if I should offer pairs, or what!!! Thanks!

Sassy Brassy Beaded Bead

I love this new beaded bead I made! I was out last weekend, running the multitude of errands that always pile up, and I stopped at Michaels for the charms I put on the wine bottle cheese tray I made for my son's school. While I was there, I picked up this vial of cool czech seed beads. I love the colors - perfect for fall, but also perfect for almost any metal you are using in your jewelry designs. The brass, copper, and silvery colors are really nice, and there's the occasional purpley colored bead for interest! Fun! In my etsy store now!

Pansy Song

Just wanted to show you what Kristin made with the beaded beads I made her in a trade! Really nice - I love the color combination!

Beads for Kristin

I just had to post these! If Kristin doesn't want them, they will be up for sale. If she does, just drool!

Another Beaded Bead

I just listed this beaded bead in my etsy SueBeads store - I just wanted to share the photo with you because it turned out so great! The photo, I meant, but the bead turned out really great too!

Beaded Bead

Here's my first beaded bead, done in lots and lots of size 11 japanese seed beads in a really pretty muted AB blue. It was made on a 10mm wood bead, that I bought in Hilton Head, and the finished size is 14mm. It's for sale in my etsy store- it was hard to determine a price for this baby, since it takes some time and eye strain to make. Hope you like it!

Another Purchase!

Here's another purchase I made while on vacation! Beth Hemmila, from HINT, on etsy, makes the most beautiful charms. I have been eyeing them for a while, and finally decided to buy one! This one is called happiness. I just love it!

Later, I should have my first beaded bead that's good enough for sale in my etsy store! It's a really pretty blue one - when it's ready, I'll let you know!

My First Beaded Bead

I mentioned that I wanted to go to the LBS to get some supplies to make some beaded beads - the kids were being too lazy for me to deal with! I did finally get there this morning and made my first beaded bead this afternoon. Here's how it turned out. NOT perfect, but not too bad, either. There are some places where I have too many beads. I do know that I will write down the number of beads in a row, for the next one, based on this one, to see if that helps. I did learn a few other things as well.

(1) You really need to have all your supplies laid out in an orderly fashion before you start on this project! Just a really good idea for about anything in life, I'd imagine, but especially when removing little bitty seed beads from the thread - they tend to go all over the place if you don't manage them ahead of time!

(2) Don't do bead weaving while you are making dinner, paying attention to three kids (clearly being outnumbered 3 to 1) AND trying to watch the news that you…
